One of the advantages of digital photography is that images can be fixed and corrected when needed. An offshoot of this is photo restoration, which used to require the soft touch of an artist.
Today, I can shoot a high resolution image of a damaged photo and use software to fix the cracks, stains or other problems we see in old prints.
